Crooked Miami Beach Cops

Oct.13-16, Fri - Mon.
Miami FL
So on Thurs. I went back to the Police station to get my stuff back, only to find out that they had given me the wrong schedule to meet my arresting officer’s supervisors.
They told me to come back on Fri. which I did.
When I got there, Sgt. Maxwell and Sgt. LaMaccio were there waiting for me.
They told me to come inside the conference room where we could talk privately.
Once in there, Sgt. Maxwell told me that he had some good news and bad news.
So I asked for the bad news first.
He told me that the arresting officer did not have my property and that he had returned it to me. Which was a complete lie.
Then Sgt. Maxwell said that the good news was that he had made me a copy of my old Florida driver’s lisence which had been expired.
I said "Excuse me?, What am I supposed to do with a copy of an expired Florida drivers license?"
Sgt. Maxwell said "You could take it to the DMV and get a temp NJ lisence"
I said "Huh?!? I don’t get it… so your telling me that you don’t have my stuff and that I’m supposed leave here with just that?"
He said "Yes."
So I asked to file a complaint.
When I did, Sgt. Maxwell told me that there were two options that I had.
First, the one that he clearly stressed that he did not want to do, was to file a formal complaint via Internal Affairs, and have a investigation done on the arresting officer.
Second, was to file a informal complaint is which would stay on the officer’s record in case he might want a promotion or etc.
Of course I asked for the formal complaint via the Internal Affairs.
When did so, Maxwell got up abruptly and said "No! I’m not doing that!"
I was like "Excuse me? I have the right to do so, since I feel that something wrong has been done to me. And not to account for what that officer has put me through the past few days"
Then he said "I don’t care, there’s no way I’m filing that formal complaint"
So I said "Fine then, so file the informal complaint"
Then he said "It’s too late for that now, you lost your chance. Why don’t you just take it like a man and leave while you still can!"
I couldn’t believe my freaking ears when he said that to me.
I got so fucking angry, but I knew that there was nothing that I could do but to leave before he put a phony wrap charge on me.
During the whole time, the Sgt. LaMaccio didn’t even say a word.
I was truly able to experience first hand on how corrupt the Miami Beach Police are. Starting from the bottom up.
I’m planning to write to the Miami Herald.  And go directly to the Internal Affairs and the FBI to file a complaint on both officers.
But right now I just wanna get hell outta FL.
This whole ordeal has taken a lot out of me.
I asked my sister to send me my passport overnight so that I have some type of legitament identification.
Since I asked her on Sat., I had to wait until Mond. afternoon to get it.
Without it, I can’t even rent a room for a night in any hotel or hostels.
It has been a midblowing experience thus far.
Who would have thought that I would be living inside a movie script.
Oh well I guess that’s life. Or at least that’s my life.

yo for real fuck that write to the Herald and IA. that shit is mad fucked up. i’d write to a florida or miami politician too. esp since its getting to voting season, a politician that’s going against police corruption will go out of his way to help to make himself look good to the avg joe. i’d def look into a florida politician….
